Our group is working on a Little Quilts project in February and March. Making small quilts and wrapping dolls and stuffed animals in them to donate to children in need.
Some of us got an early start. Nancy is using orphan blocks as the base for many of her quilts.

I tend to use leftover fabric after making a larger donation quilt for mine.

Pair them up with a cute little stuffed animal like this monkey and who wouldn’t want to cuddle up with them?!

If you’re interested in participating we’re asking that the little quilts be about 22 – 24 inches but not more than 30 inches. Many of mine are rectangular so something like 22 or 24 x 26 or 28 would work.
My Mom makes hers 24 inches square starting with a square of novelty fabric and then adding borders.

We will accept tops and quilt and bind them, or finished quilts. You can email me for more details or for an address to mail the little quilts at mmcjohnson@gmail.com
We will provide the stuffed animals.

Thanks for this opportunity! I’ll have to take a look through my orphan blocks and see what I can create…

I had to hold back tears as I saw your adorably sweet stuffed animals wrapped in a tiny quilt. And tied with a bright bow. Every little detail thought through!
In these hard adult times. Seeing a soft and generous community project created by quilters with tenderness, concern and empathy nearly overwhelmed me. BRAVA!!!
What a wonderful example of leadership and tenderness.
Thank you, deeply

PS. Children aside, I would have loved one during my hospital stays for stroke and heart attack. It’s scary and I wanted a hugger.
