I have no idea how many quilts and tops at the Maine sew-in were made by Rebecca but in addition to the finished quilts and tops she brought with her, she bound, pieced, and even quilted while she was there. I was happy that I was able to tie several of the tops she brought which were then bound by Ann and Brenda.

They were still going strong when I left yesterday but the multi day sew-in was a huge success. With 8 or 9 participants and supplies and blocks and tops provided by the entire HeartStrings group – many quilts were completed for homeless shelters, a crisis center, and a start made on quilts for Maine veterans. The Maine sew-in started today and goes through Sunday. Thanks to Darlene, we have some photos and I thought I’d share a couple here before I head out to join them.
I’m looking forward to getting to work on tying these tops.

Have you always wanted to join a HeartStrings sew-in but lived too far away? Join us this weekend for a virtual sew-in to launch our Diamond Strings project which will continue through October 31st.
You can make blocks to send in, you can piece an entire top, or make the quilt from start to finish yourself. Guidelines can be found here:
Our 3rd Annual sew-in held at Roberts, WI was a success with 14 quilters attending. We worked on past and current projects as well as making HeartStrings blocks.
The largest group worked on assembling Happy Blocks from a project earlier this year. Although we’re no longer accepting Happy Blocks for group quilts, you can find instructions to make your own here – Happy Block Instructions.
